Dubeň Tower is a lookout with a 360° view on Žilina and mountains. It was built in 2016 following an architectural design competition “Lookout Tower in Dubni”. It has a height of 27,4 meters and is standing at 572 meters above sea level. It is built out of wood and metal. It blends in perfectly with its environment.
We went to Dubeň Tower, but it was quite an adventure. Let’s me explain: We followed Google Maps and it was a very bad idea. We walked on the Vah’s bank, then we started to take a path to go to the tower. After 5 minutes, a Slovak man stopped us to tell us that it wasn’t the right way. So, we turned back, and we followed his indications. We found the panels and went on the right way. But in reality, it wasn’t the right one. We walked up to the end of the way. We turned back again. When we found the right way, night was falling. We decided to go the next day.
The next day, we were very determined to find this tower. We took the path in the forest. On the way we had already a superb panorama. After 45 minutes of ascent, we finally arrived at the Dubeň Tower.
YES VICTORY!
We’re going upstairs at the top. Arriving at the top it was windy and very cold. We stayed a few minutes to take a lot of photos of sunset.
It was a lovely and funny adventure with beautiful views.
